The aggrieved shopkeepers demand probe, adequate relief
A devastating fire that broke out at Nagni Mata temple premises near Nurpur gutted 10 shops, including two kiosks on Sunday late night.

A late night fire gutted 10 shops at Nagni Mata near Bhadwar in Nurpur.

Of these, eight shops were completely burnt to ashes, while two were partly damaged.

According to information, the fire broke out around 11.30 pm and gutted shops within minutes.

Suspecting foul play, shop owners claimed that they had suffered losses to the tune of lakhs of rupees.

The aggrieved shopkeepers demanded probe into the incident and sought adequate relief from the authorities.

Nurpur SDM Arun Sharma said field staff of the Revenue Department had assessed the losses and the relief amount would be disbursed to affected shop owners within a couple of days.

He said he had received a list of eight shopkeepers whose shops were gutted in the incident.
