The Rural Development Department has shortlisted 11 families in Una development block for a low-cost housing scheme under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.

An amount of Rs 1.4 lakh will be given to each family for the construction of a brick masonry house comprising at least one room, a kitchen and a toilet.

Una Block Development Officer Yash Pal said the beneficiaries were selected on the basis of a detailed survey that included field visits, checking revenue records and social screening.

Yash Pal said the heads of the shortlisted families were Nirmala Devi from Barnoh; Shashi Kiran from Charatgarh; Anita Kumari from Dathwara; Poonam from Takka; Kanta Devi from Badoli; Shareefa from Lower Basal; Promila Devi from Chalola; Bhagwati from Lamlehra; Soma from Batuhi; Lajya Devi from Jakhera and Parvati from Bhatoli.
