117 houses sanctioned under urban scheme in Una

The Una Municipal Corporation today sanctioned a sum of Rs 3 crore to 117 resident families for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme 2.0. Manoj Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Una MC, distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries at the MC office.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Kumar said each beneficiary would be provided Rs 2.5 lakh for the construction of a house with brick masonry walls and an RCC roof. He said Rs 70,000 would be released as the first instalment to complete the plinth, while the second instalment of Rs 60,000 would cover the cost of constructing the walls. The third instalment of Rs 60,000 would be sanctioned for roofing, and the final instalment would be released after completion of the house.
The Joint Commissioner informed that a total of 256 houses, amounting to Rs 6.4 crore, have been sanctioned under the scheme, covering all the urban areas of the district. He said that besides 117 houses sanctioned in Una Municipal area, 30 and 13 have been sanctioned in Santoshgarh and Mehatpur Municipal Councils respectively, while the Nagar Panchayats of Amb, Bangana, Daulatpur Chowk, Gagret and Tahliwal have received 36, 40, 9, 4 and 7 sanctions respectively.
Social Development Expert for the urban areas in Una district, Manoj Kumar, was also present, along with Urban Planner Anju Soni and Civil Engineer Aditya Pathak. The beneficiaries were informed about the latest techniques in constructing earthquake-resistant and framed structures, green and eco-friendly housing, as well as the PM Surya Ghar Free Solar Power Scheme.
