A hygiene kit distribution drive was recently organised for Border Roads Organisation (BRO) workers at the 68 RCC Detachment at Powari in Kinnaur district. The Labour Welfare Office, Kinnaur, organised it in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society to promote health and hygiene among workers. The event was held under the leadership of Dr Amit Kumar Sharma, Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner and president of the District Red Cross Society. Personal hygiene kits were given to 120 BRO workers as part of the initiative, which was aimed at enhancing cleanliness and individual health standards among labourers who are working in challenging conditions. District Labour Welfare Officer Sapan Jasrotia said BRO workers in the region had received benefits, amounting to around Rs 58.60 lakh over the past two years.
