Solan, July 19

Fifteen passengers were injured when a Punjab Roadways bus (PB02 EG 9524) in which they were travelling rammed into the rear of a utility vehicle while trying to overtake it near Sanwara toll plaza this morning.

Solan SP Gaurav Singh said the bus was being driven in a rash and negligent manner. The passengers corroborated this charge when asked by the police. There were 25 passengers in the bus that was going from Chandigarh to Shimla. While 13 injured passengers were admitted to Dharampur hospital, two were referred to Regional Hospital, Solan.

Driver Gurjeet Singh (35), hailing from Tarn Taran, has been arrested. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him. A probe is under way.
