15 sites identified for sale of crackers in Shimla rural belt

In preparation for the upcoming Diwali festival, the district administration of Shimla has designated 15 locations for the sale of firecrackers and fireworks within the Shimla (Rural) subdivision. These orders, issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Kavita Thakur, will be effective from October 15 to 31, 2024.

Under the Tehsil Shimla Rural area, firecracker sales will be allowed at the Bhattakufar School Ground near Sector 6 Bus Stand in Kangnadhar, Talai Mandir Ground Mashobra near Vikas Nagar Police Chowki, Primary School Ground Shoghi, Rani Ground Kasumpti, and Vijay Nagar Tutu Nalagarh Road Ground.

In Tehsil Sunni, designated areas include the Mela Ground in Sunni, Chaura Nala Basantpur, and Naduka village near Jubbar/Durgapur. In Junga Tehsil, sale sites have been set near Chail crossing Junga stairs, the marketing committee building in Koti, and the grounds of Gram Panchayat Janedghat.

For sub-tehsil Dhami, sales will be allowed at Khel Ka Chowra, and in sub-tehsil Jaloog, the sale of crackers will take place by the roadside near the Police Outpost Jaloog.

Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars have been instructed to demarcate stalls at these locations, and precautions such as water and sandbags will be put in place to prevent fire incidents.

A meeting will be held with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, and progress reports are expected by October 20. Police and SHOs have been tasked with ensuring the strict implementation of these orders.
