There has been a huge spike in Covid cases in the district with 22 persons, including 18 of ITBP, testing positive at Rampur, taking the tally in the district to 93.

The ITBP personnel had returned to Rampur on June 23 after leave. In the past also, 25 ITBP personnel had tested positive in Jeori near Rampur and Kinnaur. All of them have now been shifted to the Covid Care Centre at Mashobra, near here. The total number of active cases in the district is 47.

An Army man, posted at Military Hospital, Jutogh cantonment near here, also tested positive. Besides, two migrant labourers, who had come from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, also tested positive at Mehandli village in Rohru.

Both have now been shifted and the village has been sealed.
