The local MeT office has issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places in lower and mid hills and a thunderstorm and lightning in high hills for the next four days.
As many as 18 roads (six in Kullu, three in Lahaul and Spiti, two each in Mandi and Kinnaur and one each in Solan and Kangra) are blocked due to heavy rain. Three transformers and 16 water supply channels have been disrupted.
Meanwhile, moderate rain lashed parts of Himachal today. Kheri was the wettest with 84 mm of rain, followed by Dharamsala (37 mm), Saloni (31 mm), Palampur (30 mm), Dalhousie (23 mm), Chamba (21 mm), Bijahi (20 mm), Sinunta and Shillaro (19 mm) each, Poanta Sahib, Chaupal and Hamirpur (15 mm) each, Pandoh and Gohar (13 mm) each, Jogindernagar and Berthin (11 mm) each, Nahan and Narkanda (10 mm) each, and Dalhousie and Kumarsein (9 mm) each.
Keylong was the coldest at 12.2°C while Dhaulakuan was the hottest at 33.9°C.
Meanwhile, vehicular traffic came to a halt on the Chamba-Bharmour national highway following heavy landslide near Bagga last night. Commuters faced a lot of inconvenience due to the blockade. The landslide debris was being removed from the highway.
