A 19-year-old girl from the Barsar area of the district, who has been missing since June 19, is yet to be traced.

Her marriage was fixed in the second week of July. A missing person complaint was lodged by the girl’s father.

In his complaint, he alleged that his daughter fled the house before her marriage and took away Rs 50,000 cash and jewellery.

Police sources said the girl had left a note saying, “I am leaving the house”.

SP Gokulchandran Karthikeyan, however, said it was not a case of kidnapping or abduction.
