Urban Development Department was running Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana under National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) for the uplift of poor and downtrodden with the main objective to improve social and economic status of poor families living in urban areas.

Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary stated this today during a state level workshop organized at Jwalamukhi under the NULM. She said that steps have been taken on priority to ensure the progress of urban areas and 2,398 self-help groups (SHGs) have been formed so far under NULM, out of which 1,780 groups have been given a revolving fund.

She informed that 103 Area Revolving Federations have so far been formed in which revolving fund of Rs 50,000 has been given to 74 self-help groups. Besides, revolving fund of Rs 10,000 is being sanctioned to 570 self-help groups, which have completed three months of formation.
