In a tragic road accident, a Tempo Traveller carrying 24 passengers skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near the Gramphu area on the Koksar–Rohtang road in Lahaul-Spiti district.

According to SP Lahaul-Spiti Ilma Afroz, the accident occurred today evening. Upon receiving information, three rescue teams from the district police were immediately rushed to the site to initiate rescue and relief operations.

Preliminary reports confirm the death of two individuals — a man and a woman — while the remaining persons sustained injuries. The injured were given primary medical assistance before being referred to a hospital in Manali for further treatment.

DSP Rashmi Sharma stated that effort were underway to get information about the whereabouts of the deceased and those injured in the mishap.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
