In a significant breakthrough, the Shimla police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers from Uttarakhand with 5.53 kg of charas (cannabis). The accused, Rajmohan (34) and Sohan Dass (57), both residents of Moori Tehsil in Uttarkashi district, were apprehended near Jijendi Kainchi after a police tip-off.

Acting swiftly, a Special Cell team patrolled the area and arrested the duo with the contraband. Shimla’s Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, confirmed the arrests, stating that a case under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, had been registered.
