The Shillai police intercepted a vehicle at Feduwala in Siramur district and recovered 1.584 kg of charas during search yesterday. The police also arrested two persons travelling in the car on the charge of drug trafficking.

A team from the Shillai police station was deployed on routine patrolling and checkpoint duty in the Feduwala area of Paonta Sahib. The team stopped a car (HP 01N 0502) coming from the Ronhat side and on search recovered a bag containing 1.584 kg of charas.

The arrested persons were identified as Tula Ram (28), who was driving the car, and co-passenger Ramchandra (34), both hailing from Bindla village in Shillai. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at the Shillai police station.

DSP, Paonta Sahib, Manvendra Thakur said, “Our teams are maintaining strict vigilance on vulnerable routes. The recovery of 1.584 kg of charas is a breakthrough and reflects our commitment to dismantling every link of the drug trafficking network. We will continue to intensify our crackdown on narcotics in Sirmaur district.”
