The Kandaghat police seized a substantial quantity of cannabis from the car of two Kasauli youths and arrested them last evening.

Solan SP Gaurav Singh said that a police team, while on patrol duty, received a tip-off that two men travelling in a car from Solan towards Shimla were carrying the contraband. The team intercepted the car and arrested Karan (22) and Shahrukh Khan (30), both residents of Bathol village near Dharampur, with 413 gram of cannabis.

An FIR under Sections 20 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Kandaghat police station. The car used in the crime was also impounded.

The police are thoroughly examining the past criminal records of the accused and their backward and forward linkages.
