The Sirmaur police today nabbed 21.245 kg poppy husk from a dhabha at Vohlio village on the Kala Amb-Dehradun highway and arrested two persons, who worked at the dhabha.

Ajay Krishan Sharma, SP, Sirmaur, said Mukesh Shukla (21), a resident of Narayangarh in Haryana, and a 56-year-old man from Balvala in Uttrakhand, were arrested with poppy husk. The police had received information that the dhabha-owner and his staff were engaged in selling the contraband, following which the place was raided. Though the dhabha-owner was not found at the spot, two of his employees were arrested, along with the contraband.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered and further probe was underway.
