Una police have brought two suspects from Punjab in connection with the murder of Rakesh Kumar, alias Gaggi, who was gunned down on July 27 during a shootout in Basal village. Police suspect the killing was linked to gang rivalry. Una Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Yadav said the two were brought on production warrants and will be produced before a local court for police remand. One of the accused was lodged in a jail in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, while the other was recently arrested by Punjab Police in a separate case. On July 27, Rakesh Kumar was at a salon in Khwaja Basal village along the Una-Dharamsala highway when unidentified assailants fired at him at least six times. They fled the spot on a motorcycle, firing in the air to intimidate onlookers. The SP said the two accused will be thoroughly interrogated to establish their role in the case.
