Two Delhi tourists were killed after being struck by shooting stones near Yulla Kanda in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district, police confirmed on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Rashmi Ram (25) and Prasheel Baghmare (27), residents of Delhi.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred when the duo was on its way to the Sri Krishna Temple in Yulla Kanda. They were caught in a sudden landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in the region and were fatally injured by falling stones. Both died on the spot.

The police reached the scene shortly after receiving information about the incident and recovered the bodies. The remains were transported to Civil Hospital, Bhawanagar, where postmortems were conducted.

The Kinnaur Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek Shekhar, said investigation was underway. He noted this was the first casualty reported on the Yulla Kanda route in a very long time. He added the families of the deceased have been informed.
