Two migrant women labourers were killed after they were buried under the debris of a wall that caved in at an industrial unit at Gol Jamala village in Nalagarh last evening. The company, Veer Plastic, manufactures various types of plastic material.

According to Additional SP, Baddi, Ashok Verma, the mishap occurred when the women were working at a site near an old wall in the company that caved in as heavy material was stacked over it. The duo suffered multiple injuries on their bodies. The locals pulled them out of the debris and rushed them to a hospital.

Bitto Devi (40) was pronounced dead when taken to a private hospital while Ruksana (34), who was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, succumbed to her injuries. Ruksana hailed from Bihar while Bitto Devi was an Uttar Pradesh resident.

The incident occurred due to the negligence of the company management as the requisite safety gadgets had not been provided to the labourers. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered against the company and a probe is underway.
