A 21-year-old youth died due to an alleged drug overdose in Shimla.

The deceased has been identified as Snehal (21), son of Kapil Kumar and a resident of Sector 3, New Shimla.

According to reports, the accused was found dead in a washroom of a restaurant in Sanjauli locality of Shimla. He had gone to a restaurant in Sanjauli where he went ahead to use the washroom. However, when he did not come out of the washroom, the restaurant staff got suspicious and started to knock on the door. When they got no response, they proceeded to inform the police.

A police team reached the restaurant and broke the washroom's door only to found Snehal unconscious with an injection mark on his arm. The police also found a syringe from the spot.

He was taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police said that the actual cause of death will be determined only after receiving the postmortem report.
