Van Mahotsav was celebrated at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University on Friday.

The programme was organised under the joint aegis of the Department of Agronomy and the Department of Horticulture and Agroforestry of the College of Agriculture.

Vice-Chancellor DK Vatsa graced the event as the chief guest and encouraged the students to plant trees and ensure their regular care. He also inaugurated a newly developed Horticulture Unit created by the students. This unit aims to promote “integrated farming systems” while enhancing education and extension activities.

Over 250 plants of various horticultural and medicinal species, including guava, bael, harad, amla, jackfruit, jamun, malta, mango, litchi, lemon and galgal were planted.
