The Rampur Bushahr police have arrested three individuals allegedly involved in illicit drug trade, primarily dealing in chitta (heroin). The accused, identified as Satish Kumar (34) of Chatti village in Nirmand tehsil, Kullu, Mohinder Singh (24) of Anas village in Nirmand and Rajneesh (26) of Khanewali village in Rampur, were apprehended following a detailed investigation into a previous drug bust. On January 17, the police had arrested two individuals, Rohitash (27) of Tangling village in Kinnaur and Rakesh Kumar (37) of Kalaya village in Nirmand, Kullu. During the operation, 42.43 gm of chitta were seized from Rohitash’s possession. A case was registered under the NDPS Act and an investigation was launched. Through backward linkages, the police traced connections between the two previously arrested men and the three suspects now in custody. DSP Naresh Sharma confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations to identify other individuals involved in the drug trade are ongoing.
