3 killed as car plunges into Pabbar river in Rohru

The deceased have been identified as Vishal Thakur, Abhay Khandiyan and Himanshu Dulla, while the injured is Harsh Chauhan, a resident of Chirgaon region, Shimla.
According to reports, the accident took place near Lamba Khatal on the Rohru-Chirgaon road, when driver lost control of the car. It veered off the road and plunged into the river. As a result, three of them died on the spot while one sustained injuries as he fell out of the car.
Police team reached the spot on receiving the information and took out the bodies and also rescued the injured. The vehicle was fished out of the river with the help of a crane.
The injured as well as the bodies were taken to Civil Hospital, Rohru where the injured person is undergoing treatment. The bodies were handed over to their relatives for cremation after conducting the post-mortem.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rohru Pranav Chauhan confirmed the report and said further investigation is going on.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the deaths and directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the next of kin of the deceased and wished speedy recovery to the injured. He also prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
