Subsequently, a police team was deployed at Suri village to keep watch, anticipating that the accused driver may attempt to drive away once he believed the police presence in the area had reduced. As expected, after some time, Honey tried to drive the tempo towards Dhira but when he reached Suri, the alert police team intercepted him and arrested him.

The police recovered 32 boxes of illicit liquor from the vehicle during a search. An FIR has been registered and an investigation was underway to trace the source of the illegal consignment and identify its intended recipients.
