39 women get Rs 12.09L ‘shagun’ on wedding
Thirty-nine women were given Rs 12.09 lakh as ‘shagun’ from the state government on their marriages in the Bhoranj subdivision. This was stated by SDM Shashipal Sharma while addressing a review meeting of various schemes of Welfare Department and block-level committees. He said Rs 9.69 lakh were provided under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna, while Rs 2.81 lakh were spent under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme.
The SDM said under the Pradhan Mantri Matri Vandna Yojna, Rs 22.52 lakh were disbursed among poor families, while Rs 14.55 lakh were given to 562 beneficiaries. He said 2,848 children and 748 mothers were also given supplements.
