Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur distributed blood pressure monitors, provided by the State Bank of India, among the police personnel of the state, here today.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the police worked in varied environment conditions, thus it was vital to ensure their physical and mental fitness.

Thakur said the bank had provided 392 blood pressure monitors, which would be provided to all police stations, police posts and police battalions. He said blood sugar monitoring machines and weighing machines would also be provided. These equipments would help the police to regularly check their health parameters, Thakur said.

He said the Himachal Pradesh Police had done exceptional work during the Covid-19 pandemic by regulating the entry of tourists, and helping people stranded in different parts of the country to enter their state.

Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu thanked the Chief Minister for addressing the issues of the police force. He said all equipments and machines provided would be disbursed to the respective police stations in the state.
