As many as 135 students of the institute were awarded citations for achievements in academics, sports, culture and other extra-curricular activities.
Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, who was the chief guest at the event, said IIIT-Una had, in a very short span of time, achieved success in various fields.
The institution was getting the full support of the Centre and the state government, and the district administration, he added. Lal exhorted the students to work hard in order to achieve their goals.
He said distractions needed to be ignored, and called upon the budding technocrats to do good for humanity.
IIIT-Una Director Manish Gaur said the institute had, very quickly, risen to make a name for itself as one of the premier technical institutes of the country, adding that the institute was collaborating with many other reputed institutions of the country including Indian Institutes of Technology for study exchange and research programmes.
