Four persons injured in a road accident on the Gandhi Mohalla link road in the Pooh area of Kinnaur district were airlifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla for treatment. Revenue, Horticulture and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi on Thursday got the victims airlifted.

The Revenue Minister expressed condolences for the loss of three lives in the tragic accident and extended sympathy to the bereaved families. He said as soon the accident was reported, swift action was taken to airlift the critically injured individuals from the Indian Army helipad at Karchham to ensure timely medical care. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured that all possible assistance is being provided to them.

Earlier today, a pick-up vehicle (HP-67-3488) met with an accident on the Gandhi Mohalla link road near Pooh. Three individuals — Chewang Jamo, Inder Moni, and Sarita — lost their lives on the spot and four persons — 46-year-old Cherring Chokit, 50-year-old Shanti Devi, 29-year-old Surendra Kumari and 25-year-old driver Deepak — were injured in the mishap.

Additional District Magistrate of Pooh Vinay Modi said an immediate relief amount of Rs 25,000 has been provided to the families of the deceased and the injured have been granted Rs 5,000 as interim relief.
