        As many as 413 pilgrims were rescued by the ITBP and the NDRF in the Tangling area along the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra route in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning, after a flash flood washed away a large part of the trekking path, leaving hundreds of pilgrims stranded.
The pilgrims were rescued using the rope-based traverse crossing technique, and were shifted to safer locations, ITBP officials said.

        The rescue operation was initiated after a distress call was made by the Kinnaur district administration on Wednesday morning.
Subsequently, ITBP and NDRF search and rescue teams were mobilised to the site.
The operation is being carried out by a 34-member ITBP team in coordination with a 14-member team of the NDRF.
