Major General Jasveer Singh Sandhu, Additional Director General (ADG) of National Cadet Corps (NCC), Directorate of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, along with officers, inspected the land yesterday evening.

Major General Jasvir Singh Sandhu said, “The objective of my visit was to check the land given by the Himachal Government for opening the academy to know what needs to be done for land development here.”

“Many states have academies or schools for NCC training. With the formation of NCC academy in Himachal, the cadets here will get facilities of training and camp. It will be convenient to set up outdoor training as well,” he said.

Mandi Deputy Commissioner Rugved Thakur said, “Out of the land identified, 18 bighas has been transferred in the name of the Higher Education Department. As soon as the work regarding forest clearance is completed, the next step will be implemented soon.”
