In view of the ongoing Panchayati Raj Institutions and civil body elections, the HPPWD has drawn a strategy to keep snow-covered roads open for the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Stating this here today, HPPWD Executive Engineer Jeet Singh Thakur said all roads had been opened except the Chamba-Jot road. He maintained that the work to clear snow from the Jot road was underway and was expected to be opened tonight. He said traffic on 44 roads were disrupted due to heavy snowfall in the area.
