As many as 460 Covid cases were reported in the state today, taking the tally to 10,795. Besides, a death from the virus was also reported, taking the total fatalities to 89.

The highest number of 117 cases were reported in Solan, followed by 83 in Kangra, 58 in Mandi, 51 in Shimla, 46 in Lahaul and Spiti, 31 in Una, 14 each in Kinnaur and Sirmaur, 13 in Bilaspur, 12 in Chamba, eight in Kullu and four in Hamirpur.

A steep rise of 117 Covid cases, including 48 in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh belt, was reported in Solan district in the last 24 hours. Four employees of the Solan branch of the SBI and two staff members of the SCERT also tested Covid positive, said Medical Officer, Dr NK Gupta.

Divisional Commissioner, Mandi, Vikas Labroo tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. Dr Devender Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, said that Labroo was suffering from sore throat and mild fever for the past few days. His sample taken for Covid test on Tuesday came out positive on Wednesday, he added. He has been kept in home isolation for the next few days.

Seventy persons, including two policemen in Nahan, tested positive for Covid-19 in Sirmaur district on Wednesday.
