A five-day painting and photography workshop under the Swachh Bharat Mission kicked off at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) here today. Around 50 artistes participated in the inaugural session. Over the next four days, students of Tibetan School, Chhota Shimla; Euro Kids School, Panthaghati; and St Edward’s School, Shimla, will also showcase their artistic talents in the workshop.

Dean of Studies BK Shivaram was the chief guest of the programme while Prof Pradeep Kumar was special guest. Nodal Officer Sangram Singh, who is coordinating the workshop, said that it was a meaningful effort to convey the message of cleanliness and social change through art. He added that artistes would spread the message of Swachh Bharat among the masses through their colours and creative expressions.

The workshop would conclude on November 15. Vice-Chancellor, HPU, Mahavir Singh would be the chief guest of the concluding function.
