A five-day workshop for Sanskrit teachers concluded at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Chamba on Sunday.

The workshop, chaired by Executive District Project Officer (Samagra Shiksha) Namrata Sharma, aimed at enhancing Sanskrit education and language skills among students, besides promoting comprehensive development in the field of education in the state.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony, Sharma highlighted the significance of Sanskrit as the world’s “oldest language”, regarding it as the mother of all languages.

Omkar Verma, the district teachers’ training coordinator, urged all Sanskrit teachers to create a Sanskrit-friendly environment in classrooms to foster students’ interest in the language, asking participants to utilise their skills in their respective schools.

The teachers received training on the implementation of the New Education Policy, 2020, and effective teaching methodologies for Sanskrit. Programmes involving Sanskrit shlokas, essays, poems, were also decided to be organised at the end of each month. . About 80 teachers participated in the workshop and were given certificates of appreciation by the Executive District Project Officer.
