Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Virender Kanwar today said that five telemedicine centres will be opened in the state under the aegis of the Rural Development Department.

Addressing a public gathering at Thanakalan village, he said that one such centre will be set up here. He asserted that the facility will help provide specialised health facilities in remote places. The services of corporate houses involved in the health sector will be utilised, while the staff at these centres will be recruited from the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Departments.

The minister further stated that the rural infrastructure was being strengthened.
