With the addition of 199 fresh cases, the case tally reached 16,977 today. The fatality figure went up to 240 as seven persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Two deaths took place in Shimla, while one each was reported in Kullu, Bilaspur, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, and Sirmaur.

The highest number of 39 cases was reported in Shimla, 34 in Kangra, 32 in Kullu, 28 in Mandi, 22 in Bilaspur, 12 in Solan, eight in Chamba, seven in Una, four in Lahaul Spiti and three in Hamirpur. The number of active cases in the state today stood at 2.856.

34 cases in Kangra

As many as 34 persons, including eight Himachal Police personnel in Police Training College (PTC) at Daroh, tested positive for coronavirus in Kangra district on Friday.
