The initiative was flagged off by Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, who stressed the importance of regular health screenings. He urged health officials to extend the campaign to every corner of Himachal Pradesh so that every family could benefit.
“There are many remote areas where women work extremely hard, often at the cost of their health,” said Shandil, adding that the government is committed to expanding healthcare services in rural regions.
Secretary Health M Sudha Devi said the campaign, running from September 17 to October 2, will be implemented with the support of ASHA workers, who will mobilise women from their areas for check-ups. The drive aims to improve women’s health outcomes and empower families, aligning with Poshan Abhiyaan, Ayushman Bharat and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
The campaign will provide a wide range of services, including ENT, eye, dental, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, TB and sickle cell anaemia screenings, along with antenatal care, vaccinations, anaemia testing, counselling and telemedicine facilities.
To ensure coverage in tribal and hard-to-reach areas, mobile health teams and special health camps will be deployed across all districts.
