An area of eight panchayats and one Municipal Council has been declared containment and buffer zone in Mandi district, where movement of people has been strictly prohibited in the coming days.

Yesterday, three youths tested Covid positive in Mandi, who were kept in home quarantine. Two youths were kept at Dharampur, while the third at Jogindernagar.

Rugved Thakur, DC, said the specified area of six panchayats of Dharampur and two panchayats and one Municipal Council area of Jogindernagar was declared containment zone and buffer zone, where the youths were kept in home quarantine.

“Saklana Samour, Datvar, Sandhol, Sauhar and Ghanala panchayats of Dharampur Assembly segment and Hargunen, Jimjima panchayats and few parts of Jogindernagar were declared containment and buffer zones,” he added.

The DC said essential services would be provided to the residents at home by the local administration. People were advised to follow the directions strictly.
