Solan, June 16
The Solan district magistrate (DM) today identified eight places as containment zones in the Baddi industrial area, following the detection of 19 Covid-positive cases here yesterday. Also, 225 contacts of the patients have been traced so far and the process is on to trace more.
The local administration undertook thorough sanitisation of these eight zones and restricted the movement of people. Supply of essential items will be made at the doorsteps of the residents, DM KC Chaman said.
The newly identified containment zones include Ward No. 1 of Gullerwala village, Ward No.7 of Karuana village, Birla-Vardhman Road from Sushila Public School to Dawat Chownk, Sai Road, Ward No. 9 of Billanwali village, Ward No.5 of Tobewali Sandholi village, Chakkan Road and Landewal village.
Arishto Spinning Mills at Gullerwala village and Amravati Housing Society have also come under this ambit and both would be ring fenced to facilitate contact tracing.
The contact tracing of patients has become a herculean task for the authorities in these eight places as they are vastly populated and hundreds of people appear to have come in contact with the patients. Medical Officer Dr NK Gupta said the call detail records of the Covid patients were also being scanned by the police to ensure that all contacts of the 19 cases were mapped and tested.
