As many as 80 industrial units were approved for the youth under the Pradhanmantri Employment Generation Yojna (PMEGY) and Mukhyamantri Swavlamban Yojna (MSY) in the district today.

Harikesh Meena, Deputy Commissioner, said 82 applications were accessed for the approval while 80 were approved. He said Rs 4.25 crore would be invested in the units and the Centre and state government would provide subsidy to the tune of Rs 1.30 crore.

He said under the MSY, any bonafide Himachali between 18-45 could avail this facility. He said a subsidy up to 30 per cent of the project amount was given under the scheme. The entrepreneur could get the land registered at only 3 per cent of the cost while industrial plot was given at 50 per cent of the cost. The application could be submitted online at www.emerginghimachal.hp.gov.in, he added.
