A nine-year-old boy has gone missing from the under-construction campus of the Central University at Dehra in Kangra district. Son of a migrant labour couple from Bihar working at the CU site, he has not been seen for two days. Failing in their own search efforts, the parents approached the police. A case was registered at the Dehra Police Station on September 4, following which search operations were launched by the cops. Four teams – comprising the SDRF, police personnel, local villagers and disaster management volunteers – have been engaged. The teams are combing rivers, streams, bushes and surrounding forests. The operations were hampered by rains over the past two days, but with the weather clearing today, the police intensified their efforts. Drones and dog squads have also been deployed.
