The event, which brought together government departments, scientific institutions and emerging grassroots enterprises, was graced by Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj, Member of Parliament from Kangra and chief patron of the exhibition. In his address, Dr Bhardwaj emphasised the importance of such events in igniting grassroots innovation, supporting local industries and inspiring the younger generation. He urged that similar exhibitions be held across Himachal Pradesh to further nurture the culture of creativity and problem-solving.

Among the highlights of the event were recognitions presented to leading national institutions. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was lauded for its impressive information display, which showcased next-generation advancements in defence and space technologies. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) received recognition for its education-focused exhibit that underlined the importance of public health research and outreach. The Coir Board was applauded for its sustainable and eco-friendly product display, while the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) stood out for its presentation of cutting-edge scientific innovations.

The exhibition attracted widespread public interest, drawing over 800 students and 400 farmers who enthusiastically took part in interactive sessions and learning demonstrations. Supported by central ministries and departments — including the Ministries of MSME, Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Atomic Energy — the exhibition offered a compelling glimpse into India’s growing capabilities in sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, tribal arts and crafts and indigenous technologies.

Earlier in the day, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the exhibition and set the tone for the event. Describing Himachal Pradesh as the “Land of All Seasons, All Regions,” the Governor celebrated the state’s rich natural diversity, agriculture-driven economy and emerging technological prowess. In his keynote, he highlighted how Himachal is becoming a model for innovation and social reform, urging for global recognition of the state’s contribution to India’s development journey.
