Thakur accused the government of suppressing democratic rights and claimed that several student activists, including girls, were injured due to police excesses
Sukhu rejected the allegations, asserting that the protesters had gathered at Zorawar Stadium without permission and blocked a busy route for over three hours. He said the crowd broke barricades in an attempt to march toward the Assembly, prompting police intervention
According to the CM, one woman police personnel, two women civilians and four policemen were injured, while only four to five protesters sustained minor injuries and none sought treatment at a government hospital. Denying any lathicharge, Sukhu described the incident as a “push-and-pull” from both sides. The Opposition staged a walkout during his statement.
