Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) Director (Finance), Anurag Chander Sharma, underscored the importance of professional efficiency in all functions of HPSEBL, describing it as essential for staying competitive in today’s dynamic economic landscape. He was addressing a training programme on the latest Indian Accounting Standards for accounting officers, held at the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Training Centre in Summer Hill, Shimla.

Sharma emphasised that financial management, rooted in transparency and adherence to proper accounting norms, reflects the financial health and credibility of any institution. “Accounting transparency is not just a regulatory requirement — it is the mirror of an institution’s financial success,” he said.

The training programme was organised under the aegis of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), with the objective of enhancing the professionalism and technical efficiency of HPSEBL’s accounting personnel.

Chartered Accountant Amit Jain conducted sessions on the role of Indian Accounting Standards in strengthening the accounting frameworks of power distribution companies like HPSEBL.
