Accused of ‘bad touch’, college Principal booked
The Principal of Hydro Engineering Collegelocated near Bandla Hill, Bilaspur, was reportedly booked following allegations of a ‘bad touch’ by a college student. It is learnt that the accused was booked and released on bail as per the provisions of section 354 A.
The students of the college organised a protest on the college campus yesterday and demanded action against the Principal. Annoyed over the delay in action, the students intensified the agitation and burnt an effigy of the Principal. The Principal is also the Director of the institute and enjoys absolute authority. Apart from unwanted phone calls, the Director also allegedly sent messages to some girl students.
As the agitation intensified on the college campus in Bandla, the police were called to pacify the students, who were adamant on the demand that the Principal be arrested. In order to calm down the protest, the police took the accused to Bilaspur police station.
SP Sandeep Dhawal said that the police had registered a case against the accused Principal on the statement of a girl student of the Hydro Engineering College, Bilaspur at Bandla. The SP said the accused was booked under section 354 A and was released on bail. The investigation in the case has been started.
Rajesh Dharmani, Technical Education Minister, said that a report had been sought from the Director, Technical Education, in the matter. He had been directed to submit the report within two day. “If found guilty, action as per law and service rules will be taken,” he added.
