An Arki court today remanded Suresh Kumar, who is accused of killing his brother-in-law on October 17, in four days’ police custody. A Baddi police team had arrested Suresh from the Pahari Chikni forest area in Ramshehar yesterday morning.

The deceased, Sohan Lal, had in his dying declaration named Suresh, a resident of Khali village in Baddi, for firing at him. He was rushed to the community health centre at Baddi after he was shot at near the Sai bus stand on Friday afternoon. He was later referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, where he died of injuries.

Suresh was reportedly annoyed with Sohan Lal for having married his sister against the wishes of his family as they belonged to different castes.

After the FIR, five police teams were on the lookout to trace Suresh, who was constantly changing his hideout ever since he fled on a bike after committing the crime on Friday last.
