The closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight was celebrated with enthusiasm and dignity at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sarol, Chamba.

Kangra Lok Sabha MP Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj was the chief guest on the occasion while Bharmour MLA Dr Janak Raj, who is also an alumnus of the school, attended as the special guest.

The event featured a play on drug de-addiction, spreading a strong social awareness message. The cultural segment included performances such as Kalbelia folk dance, Rajasthani dance, Himachali folk songs and Giddha dance, which captivated the audience.

As part of Hindi Fortnight celebrations, various competitions, including essay writing, debate, poetry recitation and quiz, were organised. The winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes by the MP and MLA. Among the prominent winners were Shilpa, Arjun, Shreyanshi, Ishan Kumar, Daksh, Saksham, Aanchal, Navya, Ragini, Kartik, Sukhdeep Kumar, Namish, Sakshi Sharma and Sneha Naryal.

Principal Vikram Sachdeva expressed gratitude to all the guests and highlighted Hindi Fortnight as a powerful medium for language promotion. He also shared the remarkable achievements of students in academics, sports and other fields. MLA Dr Janak Raj, in his address, emphasised the importance of promoting and practicing Hindi while sharing his personal experiences to motivate the students.

Chief guest Dr Bhardwaj, described Hindi as the identity of the nation and urged the students to adopt it as a natural part of daily life.
