Brothers Kamlesh and Rajneesh, residents of Gwali village in Shillai constituency, had been missing since Tuesday when they, along with their friend Amit, were swept away by the strong currents of the Yamuna near Paonta Sahib. While Amit’s body surfaced on September 24 in Haryana’s Kalesar area, nearly 10 km from the site, the brothers’ whereabouts remained uncertain, leaving their families torn between despair and fragile hope.

DSP Paonta Sahib, Manvendra Singh Thakur confirmed both recoveries and said that legal formalities are underway. The brothers are expected to be cremated at the Yamuna Ghat, the very place where their lives were last seen.

Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour and Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan visited Gwali village this morning to console the bereaved families. Sharing in their grief, he assured that the administration has been directed to take immediate steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
