He said the change had been introduced in view of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

The Deputy Commissioner said those being recommended home quarantine should have caretakers to look after them. People being quarantined include those coming into Himachal Pradesh from other states or those who test Covid-positive during their stay here.

The Deputy Commissioner said government employees, who would be quarantined for any reason, would get all pay and wage benefits during the quarantine period and that period would not be considered as leave.

The Deputy Commissioner added that all categories of employees, including permanent, contractual, part-time and outsourced, would be extended the benefit.
