Nikhil Dhadhwal, an Agniveer from the district, was reportedly killed in the Akhnoor sector near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, as per information received here today.

Nikhil was posted in the Tanda area of the Akhnoor sector. He reportedly died of a bullet injury. Sources said Army personnel heard a gunshot and found Nikhil seriously injured. He was taken to the Army hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Family sources said that Nikhil had come home on holidays in January and re-joined duty later. His father Daler Singh is a taxi operator. The body was expected to arrive here tomorrow.
