Agriculture college bags overall trophy at Inter-College Games

The chief guest at the concluding ceremony, Dr RK Kapila, Dean Post Graduate Studies, congratulated all participants and lauded their sportsmanship and discipline throughout the five-day competition. He emphasised the importance of regular participation in sports for overall student development.
Dr AD Bindra, Students’ Welfare Officer, provided a comprehensive briefing of the events and results. He appreciated the spirited involvement of students and thanked all stakeholders for their support in making the event successful.
In his message, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Naveen Kumar, praised the efforts of the Student Welfare Organisation and all colleges for fostering a healthy competitive spirit. He encouraged students to continue excelling in both academics and extracurricular fields and highlighted that sports help build leadership, unity and resilience, key attributes for future professionals.
College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences delivered an outstanding performance on Day 4, dominating both table tennis and football events. In table tennis, Manish secured the men’s singles title, while Shakshi clinched the women’s title, demonstrating commendable skill and focus.
The results further raised the excitement level, with the College of Agriculture winning in arm wrestling (men and women), powerlifting (men and women), volleyball (women) and kho-kho (men and women); and the College of Community Science claimed victory in volleyball (men) on the concluding day.
In the final tally, the College of Agriculture emerged as the overall winner, while the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was declared the runner-up. The winners were felicitated with medals and trophies by the chief guest.
